Welcome to Atherstone Golf Club Website

The golf course at Atherstone is situated in an elevated position overlooking the town and benefits from some splendid views across the countryside of the four Counties of Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

The original course was laid out in 1894 on what was described as some of the best natural golfing land in the region and today, it is considered by all categories of players, to be a most enjoyable and exciting test of golf.

At 6,012 yards, the course is not long, but with several blind shots to the 18 holes which are all completely different to one another, the par of 72 and standard scratch of 70 makes for a very interesting round of golf.

Parts of the course have a "links" feel although many of the holes are set amongst a parkland of mature oak trees and with water coming in to play on three holes a genuine variety of golfing enjoyment has been created.

If you are lucky you may be privilege to see one of the many Muntjac deer that roam the course .Imported to this country in the 19th century
they are a very shy animal  about the size of a dog.

The quality of Atherstone Golf Club is perhaps demonstrated by the fact that it has produced many fine golfers, three of whom have aspired to Ryder Cup players and two members have won silver medals at The Open Championship.

Perhaps the club is best known locally for its friendly atmosphere both on and off the golf course and all categories of players are met with a warm welcome.
